Carmalita Keith started her professional journey in education and spent twenty years as an Instructional Designer. During this time, she also ventured into real estate, initially as an investor, and later becoming a licensed mortgage loan officer. As an educator at heart, she loves educating potential homebuyers and investors on loan options and opportunities available. She has presented at local real estate events and continues to reach out in her local community and virtually to share information to help homebuyers and investors. She specializes in DSCR loans for investors, but is also knowledgeable about programs for first time homebuyers, refinancing, traditional and creative loan program

Complaint forms and instructions may be obtained from the department’s website at www.sml.texas.gov.

A toll-free consumer hotline is available at 1-877-276-5550. The department maintains a recovery fund to make payments of certain actual out of pocket damages sustained by borrowers caused by acts of licensed mortgage banker residential mortgage loan originators. A written application for reimbursement from the recovery fund must be filed with and investigated by the department prior to the payment of a claim.
